In the Spring of 2023 Hampstead Central School unveiled a new vending machine, one that dispenses books! As a component of our school-wide positive behavior support system our staff give students a gold coin when they see students exemplifying behaviors like showing kindness, working through challenging social situations, and modeling desired behaviors. The students then bring the gold coins to the book vending machine and select a new book of their choice! This incentive has become incredibly popular among our students and in less than one year we have already refilled the vending machine 4 times!

As you can imagine we can use the community's ongoing support to help keep our Book Vending Machine full! (A special thank you to the Hampstead Mother's Club for their generous donation earlier this school year!) We are currently accepting donations of NEW books or monetary support to help us keep this amazing system in place and thriving. We recommend families purchase books appropriate for students in grades preK-6 (we have some high level readers!) from the Scholastic book store as we know the topics and themes are vetted. Each coil of our BMV holds 12 (of the same) book, therefore individuals and businesses might consider purchasing multiple of the same book to ensure copies gets into the hands of many young readers. All books can be shipped directly to Hampstead Central School at ℅ BVM at 21 Emerson Ave, Hampstead, NH 03841 or dropped off at the Hampstead Central School. Tax donation letters are available upon request.

Any monetary donations can be mailed to our Business Administrator at Hampstead School District Office at 20 Mary E. Clark Drive, Unit 10 Hampstead, NH 03841. Checks should be made payable to the Hampstead School District.
