Ask Me About…
Week of March 25-29, 2019
Circle Time
We read lots of Dr. Seuss books over the last three weeks! We asked each preschooler which book was his/her favorite. We learned that…
Griffin and Mia liked The Cat in the Hat.
Alex, Annabelle, and Frankie liked Green Eggs and Ham.
Anaya, Freddie, and Reese liked Wacky Wednesday.
Emerson and Liam liked There’s a Wocket in My Pocket.
No one liked The Foot Book.
Evan and Jayden liked I Wish I had Duck Feet.
Now we’re learning about the author and illustrator Eric Carle.
New Books:
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Illustrated by Eric Carle
Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What Do You See? Illustrated by Eric Carle
Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? Illustrated by Eric Carle
Activity Time
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? We’re writing and illustrating our own book inspired by Eric Carle’s Brown Bear book. Eric Carle uses handpainted papers to create colorful collage images for his books. We began this multi-step activity by creating a colorful piece of paper with paint and a variety of scrapers. Then we chose animals to cut from our papers. Next week we will add the words. This is a work in progress!
Brown Bear Roll and Color: We developed our numeral recognition skills with this game!
Journals: The kindergartners-to-be were introduced to journal writing!
Free Choice Time
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? We’re retelling this story with magnetic pieces. We also have a Brown Bear, Brown Bear puzzle.
