Welcome to Full Day Kindergarten

It’s Back to School Time!
I know everyone is very excited to be starting Kindergarten at Hampstead Central School and I am so looking forward to meeting and learning all about each and everyone one of you!
To help get us off to a smooth start in kindergarten, here is a quick list of the most important things to remember during the first few weeks of school-
Home School Folder- Your child will receive a Home/ School folder that will be sent home each day. Please check your child’s folder daily for school notices and your child’s daily work or projects. It is very important that your child return his/ her folder to school each day.
Gym- Please have your child wear sneakers on Gym days (Monday, Thursday, Friday).
Dismissal- If your child is being dismissed in any other way besides the usual (different bus, bus stop, car pick up, etc.) notice must be given to the main office. Click on the PickUp Patrol link (found under Parent information) on the HCS website. There is a blue PARENT LOGIN button at the top right-hand corner of the home page. You can also go directly to the application itself: https://app.pickuppatrol.net. You may also send in a written note for the office on that day.
Snack Time- We will be having two snack times each day- morning and afternoon. Please send in ONE simple snack and drink for each snack time that your child can manage independently.
Busses/ Bus Tags- All students should wear his or her bus tag for the first week of school- so that they can get familiar with their bus number. Kindergartners will have a fourth grade bus buddy to guide them to the correct bus for the first few days of school.
Dress Code- Your kindergartner needs comfortable play clothes and sneakers for gym days. Open- backed sandals, thongs and Crocs are discouraged- as they pose a safety issue for young children. Please refer to the school handbook for specifics.
