There will be no formal homework for kindergarten students. Parents are encouraged to read nightly with their child. This is the single, most effective at-home practice that contributes to reading development in children. Research recommends a minimum of 20 minutes per night. Any type of reading counts - parent reading, child reading, or a combination of the two!
Kindergarten students will also be given a family project each month. These projects are hands-on and fun and connect with what we are doing within the classroom.
